Project Desciption

We are looking for User Experience Designers with experience in product development. You will examine and understand existing and proposed interactions with government, and, through working with users, reimagine them as holistic, well-designed, online services. You have the ability to see through a set of forms or web services and distill out the essential information required to quickly and easily complete a transaction.

You’ll work both independently, and with other members of our team of designers, developers, and researchers. You’ll interact with both our government partners and stakeholders, and users. You will design experiences that will impact the lives of millions of people.

This designer is responsible for:

    • Their own assigned work.
    • Engagement with stakeholders, engineers, project management for their own assigned work.

The Ad Hoc designer role contributes to existing design standards, pattern libraries and brand guidelines, working with other team members to expand and grow these assets wherever needed.


  • Our Federal contracts require that you must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for employment
  • We will be accepting applications for this role until end of day Friday 1/18/19.

Basic qualifications

  • UX Discovery
    Research, competitive analysis
  • Sketches, rough prototypes
  • Wireframes
    Low-fidelity wireframes using collaborative tools
  • UX Flows
    Process maps, journey maps
  • High fidelity prototypes
    Prototypes that showcase visual design elements, built in a tool such as Sketch. Can also include other visual artifacts including style tiles, mood boards etc.
  • Visual design and brand artifacts
  • Design library contribution

Desired skills

  • HTML / CSS prototypes
    Prototypes that showcase visual design elements, built natively using front end HTML, CSS or SASS, and Javascript. Can include front end frameworks such as USDS Web design standards, Bootstrap or Foundation.
